July 27, 2012 at 10:07 am
Tony DavisI think so, but then I may be partial. LOL
July 27, 2012 at 5:53 pm
Help my nurse thinks I'm a table! One little nap and she's got me covered. LOL She has been by my side every minute, except to run for stuff.
July 26, 2012 at 3:39 pm
Aww. :)
July 26, 2012 at 5:15 pm
I love it when my Mother-in-law shows up! She cooks, and cooks, and cooks. She can put any of the so called Great Chef's to shame. Not only is it Great, but it is never ending. You could feed a platoon of Marines on her typical meal (plenty to take home with you). LOL
July 13, 2012 at 7:41 pm
Mmmmmm.... avcadoes! What does she do with those (do tell)?
July 13, 2012 at 8:00 pm
Looks GREAT.
July 13, 2012 at 8:06 pm
C.J. has been working with her Grandma, she is learning the fine art of making "Tamales". She has already started to out do her Aunt Diane. It won't be long before I'll have two Tamale makers in the house. LOL
July 13, 2012 at 9:19 pm
Cynthia's mom came to visit. She made a small pot of Tamales. Real handmade Tamales. Yes Lowana, these are the same as you tried.
June 28, 2012 at 8:18 pm
I like that word "tried"!!!
June 28, 2012 at 8:19 pm
I'd love to see the big pot! :)
June 28, 2012 at 9:25 pm
LOL, me too.
June 28, 2012 at 9:41 pm
Any left? What are you doing for breakfast?? Tamales?????
June 28, 2012 at 9:59 pm

June 26, 2012 at 2:58 pm
My mom and my daughter preparing supper. They are just working away, and discussing the advantages of the types of potatoes. I'm loving life as the cool breeze blows through the back door, and the warm sunshine beams through the windows. There's No place like home!!!
June 26, 2012 at 1:26 pm
Nice!
June 26, 2012 at 1:55 pm
Love potatoes. I have planted 4 kinds and some just showed up on their own, here and there and kind of everywhere....I think the volunteer potatoes are yellow. I planted a lot of red potOotoes. I like the little ones boiled and served with ham and greenbeans..
June 26, 2012 at 1:59 pm

June 15, 2012 at 6:21 pm
They didn't go that far. LOL
June 15, 2012 at 8:27 pm
Bacon.... Bacon.... I must be going home today!
June 15, 2012 at 8:28 am
That better be turkey bacon.
June 15, 2012 at 8:29 am
We hope to there to join you for lunch: as soon as cj as out we will drive over. Love you and enjoy your breakfast with bacon!
June 15, 2012 at 9:11 am
Not turkey bacon... Real bacon. Now if the doctor would make rounds and let me go home. I am solo tired of being stuck with sharpe items, when I drink water now, I expect to spout water like a fountain. My back is the only place that isn't covered with gauze and tape. I am beginning to ache from not being able to move around. Much longer and they will have wasted their time doing the surgery.
June 15, 2012 at 9:59 am
A grumpy patient means he is feeling better!
June 15, 2012 at 10:42 am
This reminds me of the doggie bacon commercial on TV. LOL
June 15, 2012 at 11:14 am
My little girl is bringing home the Gold again! LOL I AM SO PROUD!
June 15, 2012 at 7:24 am
Yay, CJ!
June 15, 2012 at 10:22 am
Today I woke up to a new nurse, a tall blonde Barbie, from North Carolina. I would still rather wake up to the face of my wife. I love to see her smile and sweet eyes even after 20 years, they are my favorite sight. I love you Honey....
June 14, 2012 at 10:18 am
I escaped the bed and I am running around the room with the cords tethered back to the monitor. I've learned that if I want some privacy, all I need to do is hit the Nurse Call button, and no one dares come near the room for at least 30 minutes. LOL now to find out how to jimmy the window open. There is a crew outside my window that has ropes to the ground. Looks like a plan in the making.
June 14, 2012 at 10:16 am
Yum Yum.
June 13, 2012 at 8:44 am
Tony! I just saw all this. Thank God you're ok. Rest anddo what they say! Prayers always!

June 13, 2012 at 8:58 am

June 13, 2012 at 8:58 am
Amazing. They have figured out how to remove all the flavor, while leaving all the calories, and make it look like real food. You have to admire the .... Whatever. I think. They have figured out how to keep the flavor for themselves. I am looking forward to 10:00 so I can sit-up and drink my coffee. Lol small pleasures
June 13, 2012 at 9:24 am
The most interesting thing was replacing real dairy butter with canola based substitute. (nothing like a little Canadian oil to put on your bread).
June 13, 2012 at 9:35 am
Right now that truly does not look to bad but sure its bland. Wifey need to bring you some healthy seasoning to Wake your meals up. Take care Tony
June 13, 2012 at 9:46 am
Huh I thought you were part of my support group already. LOL
June 13, 2012 at 10:38 am

June 13, 2012 at 10:45 am

June 14, 2012 at 1:21 pm
I just figured out that women must write fortune cookies. Cindy's is the top one, C.J.'s is the second one, and mine was on the bottom. LOL
June 9, 2012 at 4:33 pm
Oh, THAT's funny.
June 9, 2012 at 4:42 pm
Hey, thats my line - work smarter, not harder...need to follow my own advice...maybe I will just stay out of sight, I am out of my mind...LOL
June 9, 2012 at 7:01 pm
Some needed more space for her math problems, so they are spreading out the problems. Math SOL tomorrow. Practice, practice, practice.
June 4, 2012 at 8:20 pm
She said thanks for the prayer, it is much appreciated.
June 4, 2012 at 9:29 pm
I wish I were there. All the trouble I had with math when I was younger forced me to come up with a whole bag of tricks to overcome. :)
June 5, 2012 at 3:00 am
She said she need it to clear her brain after reviewing all day and she need some fresh air. Boy, was it windy yesterday. Continue to pray and i know God provided wisdom and calmness through the test.

Here's a an idea .... when your employees have caught up on their work, stand them out by the road with bright shirts like a billboard, that reads "No Waiting". I love this country!!!
May 7, 2012 at 5:05 pm
Now this must be where those people take their cars when they aren't performing up to their expectations.
May 7, 2012 at 4:51 pm
They actually wash dogs here. LOL I thought it was a joke. They weren't as amused as I was about the sign. Where else but northern Virginia.
May 7, 2012 at 5:16 pm
Actually its not a bad idea!!!
May 7, 2012 at 5:33 pm
Soooo funny
May 7, 2012 at 6:08 pm
The young scientists is preparing to view the moon in its perigee state. As she explained to me means "Super Moon" it appears 14% larger, and is closer to the earth. Unfortunately the clouds are not cooperating right now. So we wait and she gives me a lesson on the details. She has spent the day researching moon. It is at it's peak in 2 more minutes.
May 5, 2012 at 11:36 pm
You can tell her I'm doing the same thing. :)
May 5, 2012 at 11:55 pm
She was so disappointed that the clouds would not even give her a sliver of a view.
May 5, 2012 at 11:58 pm
Aww. It was cloudy here, but it broke some. Of course, I get an amazing sky view every night in the middle of nowhere. :)
May 6, 2012 at 12:00 am
I shut down the street lights and it was pitch black out here, but not very clear.
May 6, 2012 at 12:17 am

Saturday morning and C.J. has Soccer again. Her team is up 5-1 with 10 minutes to play. I'm trying to get enough coffee in to stay awake. LOL Early games mean your day is clear for other things, but it is hard to get moving.
May 5, 2012 at 9:21 am

May 5, 2012 at 1:39 pm
Too much to do. These women have a list longer than I can see. LOL
May 5, 2012 at 2:04 pm
Racking up the miles. It is not the years, but the miles that take their toll on us. I have a high mileage old body, and this morning, I feel the miles. LOL
April 30, 2012 at 9:26 am
Keep racking up the miles and watch out for deer....Its a shame to wreck a high mileage unit...How didyou run up so many miles riding the train?
April 30, 2012 at 10:52 am
The train is in Springfield, and I also worked a while with a friend doing some solar work, and that was way out in the country. LOL

April 30, 2012 at 5:58 pm
LOL, as long as it is not "Stop Leak" I'll be OK. When that time comes, just pull the plug.
April 30, 2012 at 6:00 pm
We drive our vehicles until there are no more miles left to run off!!
April 30, 2012 at 6:35 pm
I plan to get all I can out of mine too. I am going to have to get some new tires, but "Sunny" is a great little car, and I figure I should get another 100K outta her if I treat her good. The Car has good Karma. :~)
April 30, 2012 at 6:50 pm
Lunch provided today for the support staff. Jerk Chicken, Salmon, Curry Chicken, baked potatoes, red beans and rice, and Bread pudding for desert. Yum... Yum.

April 21, 2012 at 8:17 pm
Didn't think you could get away with the pizza deal very long.
April 21, 2012 at 9:02 pm

April 19, 2012 at 1:22 pm
Did you pack your Spider-Man lunch box?
April 19, 2012 at 2:12 pm
No... I just went down to see what they were doing. Then I thought it would be fun to stand in the lobby and make faces and gestures through the Big Glass Doors. They sure did get fired up, but the building security made me go back to my office, or they were going to make me go outside. Fun's over, back to work. What's an old country boy doing in the city anyway. LOL
April 19, 2012 at 2:45 pm
I don't have as many crazy days at work as you do and that's kinda my job description
April 19, 2012 at 3:34 pm
That's a good question. I just happen to have a mini farm that I think you might like.
April 19, 2012 at 3:39 pm
As they say in another occupation... Location, Location, Location. I started in the military as an EMT, went to the EOD (bomb squad) then back to Nursing. But it was quieter then than working here. LOL
April 19, 2012 at 3:43 pm
At the Allergy clinic with my little girl. This has been a very tough year for allergies. It seems that she is allergic to trees the most. Beach and Oak is the worst.
April 19, 2012 at 9:55 am
Ouch. That looks painful. Fortunately, the only allergy I have is to some form of alcoholic drink, and I don't really drink so I'm good.
April 19, 2012 at 10:00 am

March 31, 2012 at 11:14 pm
Wow looks very nice. You certainly could make a living just making beautiful things like this.
March 31, 2012 at 11:26 pm
Donna, computers was a hobby and when it becomes a job, it changes it. When money gets involved, then the person paying decides what you do. I love making things, and if I have to depend on it for money, I won't have the choices I have now. And when people pay for something, they tend to be more critical. And I am too sensitive to deal with people "preferences" such as "I would like it better if it was Pink and white wood." When it is a gift you can say, that's why I'm giving it to someone who likes it. LOL
March 31, 2012 at 11:43 pm
That's a good chunk of why I didn't go into computers for a living; so I can continue to enjoy them and so when I do free tech support calls no one can complain about the bill.
April 1, 2012 at 12:10 am
its very beautiful tony
April 1, 2012 at 10:38 am
GREAT JOB TONY!!!!
April 1, 2012 at 11:18 am

March 25, 2012 at 8:22 pm
So precious! They played great. Wish UNC had made it.
March 25, 2012 at 10:01 pm
Yeah, it would have been more fun to have Kentucky beat UNC, since they are Keith's team. The problem is that I have a lot of friends from N Carolina, and I wouldn't want to cheer against them. LOL
March 25, 2012 at 10:06 pm
Keith would die if he knew I was rooting for UNC...needed them for my bracket.
March 25, 2012 at 10:10 pm
Yesterday in addition to the quiz meet, C.J. had her art displayed at Hylton High school. Thank goodness for friends, that are willing to help. Sharayl took her to the art show.

This was posted because I had to go pick up the "Knee cart" for Cindy and she was home in bed. I didn't want to make the decision so I put it on facebook, and then called her to get her choice. It was the easiest way I knew. Sorry for any confusion. She chose the Red one with the basket. LOL

Stepped outta my building to all kinds of commotions, Police everywhere, streets blocked in all directions. There was only one way to go and it is through the middle of everything. Such a weird feeling in the air and it seems to be effecting everyone. I made it to the metro and am on the train home (to soupbeans and cornbread), and they can play all night if they like. LOL
January 31, 2012 at 8:03 pm
Do we need to issue you some kevlar body armor?
January 31, 2012 at 9:27 pm
I learned to keep my head low, Otherwise I would have never survived my first career. LOL
January 31, 2012 at 9:56 pm
:)
January 31, 2012 at 10:02 pm
Soup beans and cornbread near DC. Where are they imported from? lol
January 31, 2012 at 11:14 pm
Well we had them imported. I had to tell them they were "Majic Beans" and would produce gas and help improve the economy. I guess it was as good an Idea as any of the others they have tried. LOL
January 31, 2012 at 11:37 pm
You've got something there!
January 31, 2012 at 11:58 pm
I'm surprised that worked. I figured they had enough hot gasses being belched out in DC.
February 5, 2012 at 3:15 am
The horses have shown up. Now the police are easing up around the sides. It is interesting to see it beginning.
January 30, 2012 at 2:23 pm
I couldn't resist, I had to come outside and see what is going to happen with the police and the occupy Protestors. The Protestors are not moving, the TV cameras are all waiting for a story and nothing is happening. ... Oh well I guess I'll go back inside.
January 30, 2012 at 2:01 pm
CJ came home and said one of the teachers at school had ask if I could make them a box. She had the note from the teacher. This is the resulting box. I hope. They like it.

January 23, 2012 at 12:40 pm
How hard was that to make? Did it take a day or a week or---- It is really nice!
January 23, 2012 at 7:07 pm
About 3 hours.
January 23, 2012 at 7:16 pm
Hope you don't mind me being nosy. I just really appreciate that kind of work. Your Uncle Ray could do all kinds of woodworking to. Jim says he could build things to if he set his mind to it, Maybe a wood car. LOL!
January 23, 2012 at 7:27 pm
Could you help my dad with William's toy box?
January 23, 2012 at 7:34 pm
Sure, Is it a repair, or a new one? If it is a new one, what size?
January 23, 2012 at 8:06 pm
@Mary, Grandpa Hillard was also a whiz with about anything from woodworking to auto mechanics. Although it was his physics project that worked too well, until the Federal Government stepped in and insisted he give up the science projects.
January 23, 2012 at 8:13 pm
you did a great job!!
January 23, 2012 at 8:26 pm
Tony, it's a new one. He wanted to have it finished by Christmas, but I think his dementia is starting to get the best of him. :(
January 24, 2012 at 10:47 am
Any idea of the size you want?
January 24, 2012 at 10:04 pm
He has one started, about 3 feet long, 1 foot wide, 1 1/2 ft deep. Under normal circumstances it would be finished by now. (He was diagnosed with early stage dementia in 2010, and we are really starting to see the signs now.)
January 25, 2012 at 8:27 am
My wonderful wife made Fajitas, and they are great! And the salsa is HOT! Great on a cold day. Yum.....
January 22, 2012 at 5:20 pm

January 22, 2012 at 5:22 pm
I made supper this evening. Clam chowder.
January 21, 2012 at 6:39 pm
Looks good enough to eat !
January 21, 2012 at 6:42 pm
I hope so, because It is all I have. LOL Sears Just took $300 for the promise to fix our washer by the end of the month. LOL They took over a week to get here, and spent 2 hours, to tell us that they had to order the part. It will take another week to get the part, and the next appointment for them to return and put the part in is on the 30th. Look like they have more work than they can handle.
January 21, 2012 at 6:52 pm
Correction, as always God always looks out for my wife Cynthia. The repairman put everything back together and loaded up all his tools and went to order the part. The system would not let him order it, and told him he had one on the truck. He was sure it wasn't there before, but it was now. So he is now installing the part.
January 21, 2012 at 7:07 pm
The chowder looks delicious! I need directions to your house!
January 21, 2012 at 7:45 pm
You didn't get clams out of Moore's Creek, did you? I don't think we ever learned to eat that stuff here in chicken and dumplin's country.
January 21, 2012 at 9:11 pm
My dad liked oyster soup - we never could fiqure out where he acqiired that taste - probably around the coal camps in Perry county !!
January 21, 2012 at 9:54 pm
It is exquisite.
January 21, 2012 at 10:00 pm
Looks great Tony, um....um...
January 21, 2012 at 10:17 pm
I developed a taste for sea food when I was married to the daughter of a Shrimp boat man from Black Rock, Flordia. Although the marrage did not work out, I still have two fine children and taste for great seafood from the marrage. Nothing against her, two people can be good people and still not be good together. I am now married to the person that was right for me, and she is married to the person that is right for her. She taught me to make the Chowder.
January 21, 2012 at 10:27 pm
That is a wonderful attitude. Enjoy your soup.
January 22, 2012 at 1:47 am
I thought it looked familiar
January 25, 2012 at 7:16 pm
Thanks Tony, it's good to be ok where we are in life. We took the long way 'round and both still smiling. I'm glad you're happy, and I know you only wish me well too. Corbitt & Cindy are so lucky we didn't work out!!! -Shrimper's Daughter (Yulee, FL).
January 25, 2012 at 8:59 pm
PS. The shrimp on the dock in Charleston, SC are sweet, good tasting and cheap.... buy plenty of ice! PSS. (.... Heavy cream in chowders take it to the next level).
January 25, 2012 at 9:04 pm
I'm ready for the storm tonight and tomorrow. I wanta thank Michael Grubb for reminding me how much I love this stuff. LOL

ROFL, now that makes sense.
January 21, 2012 at 12:17 am
:)
January 21, 2012 at 9:53 am
Your tax dollars at work. I think the police have it under control. The 99% get to pay for it, while the millions of dollars tick away.
January 19, 2012 at 10:01 am
The system is flawed and imperfect but we still live in a democracy. If these jokers want to change things research, research, research ......then vote for the candidate you represents what's best for the nation. The sense of entitlement is the leech that is draining the life blood from our financial system. You deserve nothing you don't earn. Land of opportunity with OPPORTUNITY being the key word.
January 19, 2012 at 10:21 am
Amen!
January 19, 2012 at 3:39 pm
I don't understand my little girl! It is 70 degrees in the house, and she is cold.
January 14, 2012 at 6:56 pm
Mine always do that right before they get some sort of plague.
January 14, 2012 at 7:01 pm
That's funny!!
January 14, 2012 at 7:04 pm
She does it all the time.
January 14, 2012 at 7:18 pm
Did you say that new solar energy collectors were doing a great job. You might want to explain again to c.j. just how warm and cozy they are keeping the house while saving money at the same time.
January 14, 2012 at 7:20 pm
Actually, we don't have solar electric yet. I have been installing them for other people. It was another income source.
January 14, 2012 at 7:25 pm
Oh, you gotta love 'em!
January 14, 2012 at 9:03 pm
Is that a milkshake she's drinking?
January 14, 2012 at 9:13 pm
Might wanna start setting up the solar when you can. I know of a few people who pretty much are neutral on their electric bills now after selling their excess power in summer to pay for the deficit in collection during winter. Wish we had it out here at the farm, then I'd be totally independent of outside services, except for the internet/phone.
As for C.J., she might just like to bundle up. I remember I had that kind of habit when I was little. Whenever it snowed was great because I had an excuse to put on every scrap of clothing I could and brave the snowy outside like it was Hoth from Empire Strikes Back.

C. J. takes being cold after me.
January 14, 2012 at 9:37 pm
She's female ~ 'nuff said!
January 14, 2012 at 11:46 pm
Which makes me wonder why guys often refer to pretty girls as "hot chicks". lol
January 15, 2012 at 2:09 am
Fix her some hot chocolate instead of a cold McDonald's drink.
January 15, 2012 at 11:39 am
Tony, did you get the names and birthdays I sent you last Sunday on the 8th?
January 17, 2012 at 8:46 pm
Yes, thanks.
January 17, 2012 at 9:18 pm
The girls are out this evening. I was hungry for something different, so I made beef and noodles, oriental style. I picked up some kimchie (extra spicy). I have to say it is very good.
January 13, 2012 at 10:16 pm
I could use a bit of that Kimchi, sinuses have been packed lately. Need to clear them out.
January 13, 2012 at 10:21 pm

January 14, 2012 at 3:51 am
I think a lot about those GI's with Korean wives who cooked for us and how much I miss good Korean resturants and my Korean cookbook. Nice job Tony!
January 14, 2012 at 10:12 am
Looks good, but I could be wrong.
January 14, 2012 at 11:38 am

January 9, 2012 at 10:31 pm
Half way... pray it goes smooth, and that I get the feeling back in my face and hands. LOL
January 3, 2012 at 8:55 pm

January 3, 2012 at 9:36 pm

More clean electric power!!!!! I AM ONE COLD TIRED PUPPY. Thinking I'm too old for manual labor. Where's my cane and rocker. LOL
December 18, 2011 at 3:32 pm
I see a warm cup of coffee and massage chair in your future, your skins are winning against the giants at the end of the first half
December 18, 2011 at 3:40 pm
Need to do that stuff in warmer weather!! Great job Tony!
December 18, 2011 at 6:29 pm
I made it home. I need to recover. I think I will go home to my mommy. That's what I'll do. I think I will leave Wednesday morning. But for now, some soup beans and cornbread.
December 18, 2011 at 6:33 pm
In the mountains pulling power wire to the solar units in the snow. You can't see the snow but it is falling,
December 17, 2011 at 5:33 pm
I thought that job was complete
December 17, 2011 at 10:50 pm

Y'all sure know how to eat good!!
December 12, 2011 at 9:40 pm
Looks like our kind of eatin
December 12, 2011 at 10:23 pm
The funniest thing is that i had emailed her and asked her to make it for me. Later one of her friends came by and they were talking, and she told Cindy that she didn't want to keep her from fixing her husband's supper. Cindy told her that she had it made, and showed her the beans and cornbread. The lady thought we were really having a hard times. She left me a cake. LOL Too bad I don't do sugar.
December 12, 2011 at 10:46 pm
You need some fried salt bacon for a complete meal !!
December 12, 2011 at 11:25 pm
U are def a Davis. Love them soup beans. Even for a city girl! Its in my blood.
December 12, 2011 at 11:40 pm
You can take the boy out of the country, but ...
December 12, 2011 at 11:58 pm
Hey! Or the GIRL!! hehe
December 13, 2011 at 12:18 am
Yep.
December 13, 2011 at 12:19 am
That's What I Had!!!!!! LOL
December 13, 2011 at 12:30 am
It's a good meal for a poor boy/girl, and anyone else that likes good food. LOL
December 13, 2011 at 10:09 am
I love soup beans and cornbread. Preferably with a big beet pickel on the side. I have to be careful and eat them in moderation though. If not the neighbors complain. And I don't have real close neighbors.
December 13, 2011 at 7:08 pm
LOL, I think I understand why.
December 13, 2011 at 7:10 pm
Ok Ok so what is re receipt..
December 13, 2011 at 9:30 pm
Oh Sally, my wife got it from Mom, but for you, we'll have to make a batch and have you over to eat it. You can get the details from the better half. LOL
December 13, 2011 at 9:31 pm
I would LOVE that..
December 13, 2011 at 9:32 pm
Please note the buttermilk, I never quite understood that part. LOL... on the "hard times" assumption. It's funny how much old family recipes mean these days. I made your sister Lowanna's broccoli casserole for Johnathan at Thanksgiving so there would be some Davis' represented. I thought he was going to jump in sideways and eat it all!
December 13, 2011 at 9:36 pm
It has made it to a bunch of meals lately, up here.
December 13, 2011 at 10:00 pm
All panels installed! Praise God! Record time.
December 4, 2011 at 4:18 pm
that is awesome!!!
December 4, 2011 at 4:39 pm
You are getting good at that!
December 4, 2011 at 4:39 pm
Looks great & the sky is so pretty there.
December 4, 2011 at 5:16 pm
It was a beautiful day, and my friends help yesterday made today run much smoother. It is funny, the customer saw me yesterday and said it was great that I was back, and that I should spend more time on his job. He seems to think more gets done when I'm there. LOL
December 4, 2011 at 6:37 pm
I was t the field when the sun climbed up from behind the mountains. I was determined to get them all up and with God's help, I tightened the last bolt at 3:15 PM. It is a 1.5 hour drive (wide open and pushing the limit all the way) each way. So I am beat, I'm about to put on my jammies and lay down in front of the TV, cuddled up with my little girl. LOL
December 4, 2011 at 6:45 pm
2 more, done, 3 to go yeee haw.

Tony, who is buying these things? Businesses, homeowners? and just how much electricity can they generate in this part of the country where the sun doesn't shine over half of the year? Besides being ugly, they are terribly expensive. Based on my electric usage in an all electric home their cost would have to be below $6,000 to be economically feasible (three year payback). I am supposing they have some kind of drive system that allows them to track the path of the sun for the days in which there is some sun and some type of battery storage system for days when there isn't any. Since we are talking direct current here there isn't any way that I know of to use the power company's lines as a backup source because that is alternating current. Just curious as I know you have been building a lot of these things.
December 4, 2011 at 3:37 pm
Dorsey, These past few systems are private homes. You may have gotten some bad information. These produce power every day, sun or clouds (more on bright sunny days). The systems are Grid tied meaning during the day they power the house, and the excess power turns the meter backwards then at night you pull back from the grid. The system I installed in April - May has been producing more power than the owner uses, and he has credit on his electric bill. He only pays the connection fee. Other people opt for a combination of Grid tied with battery back-up for power outages. The panels produce DC power, but we always attach inverters and controlers that converts from DC to AC, and manages the electrical flow. The cost of Solar has really dropped, plus the absence of an electric bill with energy tax credits, it is almost free when it is calculated out.
December 4, 2011 at 7:03 pm
Thanks, Tony. Sounds like more research is needed on my part. Now if we could make them look like trees or rose bushes! lol
December 4, 2011 at 11:28 pm
LOL, I kind of like the nice blue coloe, and you see we are now painting the racks green to hide them as much as we can. They are becoming more reasonable and efficient all the time. Our current customer is a CPA, at a large accounting firm and also teaches finacial cources at a local university. Our usual customer very well educated and understand the economics of the purchase (better than I do). It also provides a reliable source of energy should our electrical grid be disrupted either by terrorist or by natural disasters.

Another Clean electric power system set up and just about to go live. Wahoooo!
November 20, 2011 at 1:55 pm
This has been interesting, I have been teaching the man behind me how to set up systems. I guess Charles must believe in the old Army adage "See one, Do one, Teach one".
November 20, 2011 at 8:45 pm
Always something going on in DC. LOL. The police out number the protesters.
November 8, 2011 at 5:16 pm

October 30, 2011 at 1:54 pm
Didn't anyone ever tell those people in washington what sunday was all about.
October 30, 2011 at 2:03 pm
If they understood that, we wouldn't have half the problems we have now.
October 30, 2011 at 5:15 pm
DC's cost of living is so high I can't afford one of those places. So I'll take my poor ole self back to the country in Virginia. LOL (Some times being poor ain't so bad).
October 18, 2011 at 6:24 pm
Seems like even city folk enjoy camping sometimes. Don't you just love the great outdoors.
October 18, 2011 at 6:59 pm
Yep! When it is in the country. Not in the city. Lol
October 18, 2011 at 7:46 pm
I love the fact they are protesting corporations, but they went to llbean, and lands end, etc.... to buy all those tents, I saw a picture earlier that was awesome, pointed out corporate things in the pictures
October 18, 2011 at 8:13 pm
Not exactly what you want to see, at 7:45 pm, with another upgrade to follow this one. It has already been a long day. Now I need to find out what time the trains stop running. UGH!!!!! Yes, I'm still thankful to have a job.
October 17, 2011 at 7:49 pm
But you're not thankful for Microsoft making your job that much harder!
October 17, 2011 at 8:11 pm
Well, Microsoft is the reason I have a job. If all their products worked like they say, There wouldn't be a need for people like me. LOL
October 17, 2011 at 8:13 pm
Wohoo, It is now 64% through after only 2.5 hours. Maybe the next one will go faster.

October 17, 2011 at 8:48 pm
I guess you can say that I "really" DIG the country. I am a little over half way through. 48 holes 36" deep. In the background. You can see the Blueridge mountains.
October 16, 2011 at 2:08 pm
I guess I misunderstood the other day. I thought you meant you were going OUT of the country, not to the country. Ha! Ha!
October 16, 2011 at 2:27 pm
Guess ur freezer finaly got full and u had to start buring the bodies huh? Lol!
October 16, 2011 at 3:00 pm
Ahhhh, drilling holes, its a guy thing...
October 16, 2011 at 6:40 pm
I am glad to be home. I think the only thing on my body that is not sore id the tips of my hair. It is a terrable thing to get old! LOL @Paula I was wondering if you were thinking that they had a different culture out thar in the country. I wasn't sure what you were saying, now I understand. LOL @Jason Shhhhh, don't give away all my secrets. LOL
October 16, 2011 at 8:14 pm
LOL, I think I would have given it to them, if they were that big.
October 17, 2011 at 7:19 pm
This was quite an honor, since they always have more volunteers than they need. It made me feel good. I guess you know know where I'll be October 10th. LOL
September 27, 2011 at 9:31 pm
That is quite an honor, but you so deserve it!!
September 28, 2011 at 6:51 am
Masonic temple, just one of the sites I pass everyday to and from work. This is not the best shot, but you can make it out.
September 26, 2011 at 6:52 pm
Waiting on the train so that I can begin the 2nd part of my commute. After the ride, a brief two block walk. Starting another week, on a gloomy Monday morning. So far better than what my friend Ken had to face this morning.
September 26, 2011 at 9:25 am
It could be worse. DC Metro system is actually pretty good, especially when you compare it to the catastrophe that is Atlanta's MARTA system.
September 26, 2011 at 10:01 am
One of those days.... Packed tighter than my sinuses, and that is difficult to do with my allergies acting up. I was only out of my seat about 5 minutes all day. I will be glad to make it home.
September 26, 2011 at 6:40 pm

September 22, 2011 at 8:11 pm
Ouch!!!! Sometimes I forget, but my friends keep me humble (and family too).
September 21, 2011 at 7:06 pm
Good reminder. Looks like we've all bought into the "attitude of entitlement" that we complain about in our children.
September 21, 2011 at 10:20 pm
Yep! I'm guilty.
September 22, 2011 at 9:18 am
I'm entitled....I look at all of these insulting ads about cheap cell phones, credit repairs, weight loss miracles, and cheap cars....I should be able to complain...right? And I have to use facebook because everyone else does and I might miss something if I don't use it!
September 22, 2011 at 9:23 am
Just walked out of work, this is what greeted me.
September 15, 2011 at 7:29 pm
God put a rainbow in the clouds.
September 15, 2011 at 7:36 pm
Well, it didn't flood for 40 days and nights, but you got the rainbow anyway. :)
September 15, 2011 at 7:44 pm
Terry, we must think alike, because that is exactly that I thought when I saw it. That old gospel song.
September 15, 2011 at 9:54 pm
neat, water particles in the air refracted the light to form a visible color spectrum. Enjoy!
September 16, 2011 at 7:26 am
Amy, I know you are right, but somehow that just don't sound the same when I try to sing.
September 16, 2011 at 8:00 am
You should see her explanation for L-Band Globular Clusters.
September 16, 2011 at 8:00 am
I was just being silly
September 16, 2011 at 3:46 pm
God put a rainbow in the clouds, I don't care how he he did it, whether he used water vapor to refract the different colors found in light, or if he had used a large pain brush.
September 16, 2011 at 8:10 pm
its just beautiful
September 17, 2011 at 11:55 am
UGH! Now, flooding!
September 8, 2011 at 8:03 pm
2 1/2 hour ride home, many of the roads are closed. I-495 closed Route 1 Closed several places. Major flooding in our area. I was raining so hard, I did not know where I was, I just followed the little red lights in front of me.
September 8, 2011 at 8:42 pm
Gosh Tony that is a stressful drive in the rain. You certainly have a long hall every day. Your a good man
September 8, 2011 at 8:47 pm
It is only a 16 mile drive (from the train station).
September 8, 2011 at 8:49 pm
Oh I seen the 2 1/2 hour just this evening I take it.
September 8, 2011 at 9:03 pm
Glad you made it home safely! I can honestly say that I have NEVER missed the traffic.
September 8, 2011 at 9:05 pm
I'm leaving work, this the view of the Washington monument, I see as I head to my train.
September 6, 2011 at 7:55 pm
Be careful out there!
September 6, 2011 at 8:15 pm
"... a country boy set out to see the world".....
September 6, 2011 at 8:18 pm
LOL. The country is deep inside. That's the part that helps to keep me somewhat sane. I don't mind the city when it is a quiet night. Not too many people, just me and the street people.
September 6, 2011 at 8:30 pm
Yeah, you know .... you can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy! Just the way it should be, too, I might add! LOL! It's a beautiful shot of the monument, nonetheless.
September 6, 2011 at 8:50 pm
WOW!
September 6, 2011 at 9:24 pm
Nice, Tony. However, you can have the city life. I think if I had to work in DC I would find me a job mucking out stables or something. DC is one of the worst towns to get around in I have ever been in and I always felt like I was walking on the edge of a war zone. What a shame that such a crime and drug ridden place is our nation's capital, but then it may be more representative of the depths to which our country has sunk than most other cities. It leaves me sick and fearful for my children and grandchildren's future.
September 7, 2011 at 12:34 am
very nice pic
September 7, 2011 at 9:47 am
Mucking stalls is very relaxing.
September 7, 2011 at 7:09 pm

August 27, 2011 at 8:58 am
Pretty sure one of middle commandments says something about taunting or causing lusting, jealousy, and envy. I just committed all three.

August 27, 2011 at 1:04 pm
I hope it is not the last hot meal for a couple days. I have the generator gassed up. I had a feeling that it was going to hit us, so Cindy stocked up before the stores were emptied out. We're sitting pretty well stocked up. It feels a bit like meeting the inlaws for the first time, you think you are prepared... but you still wonderit is going to turn out. LOL

Charles calls it "Pet an' Potatoes", Well I guess it would be a shame to let George go to waste. LOL George had jumped his pen and was headed to see the lady goat next door. Them ladies will get you in trouble everytime.
July 24, 2011 at 4:10 pm
I was at my veternarian's barn to pick up one of my horses and saw some goats in a stall (and I love goats as pets). When I told her how neat they were, she said with derision "... go ahead and get some, the fence that will hold water will hold a goat!" Now I can tell here that they can be held right well... in a frying pan!
July 24, 2011 at 7:05 pm
Back in the Virginia hills, 98 degrees and feels like 104. My friend Charles is back cooking again. I'm waiting to see what this week's "Mystery" Meat will be. He is now telling me about how a friend ran over their goat. Something tells me the pet is in the pan.
July 24, 2011 at 4:03 pm
No way
July 24, 2011 at 4:08 pm
Ooh, you actually ate roadkill? Ewwww.

I went thru Columbus awhile back just to get some Korean food, but the place I went to wasn't very good. I guess I'll have to look around more, maybe Atlanta. I used to have a Korean cookbook...

July 16, 2011 at 10:48 am
This is where we caught our supper. It tried to get Charles, but he was too fast. We had the grill going to cook some ham, when this opportunity meat came along. If you know Charles, this is no surprise. The hard part was getting the skin off. By the way, it don't taste like chicken, it's much better.
July 9, 2011 at 5:49 pm
I had rattlesnake once at the Stouffer Waverly Hotel in Atlanta. That Sunday brunch was $35. a head 20 years ago. (Elk, gator, ratlesnake, snails and a lot of truly fancy things elsewise). Who knew that hillbilly dish is gourmet?
July 9, 2011 at 6:13 pm
I had Bear, and alligator tail at the Carter family reunion in the Okefenokee Swamp, some years ago. It was good, but it wasn't hillbilly food... It was swamp people food. LOL
July 9, 2011 at 6:57 pm
So what does that make our children? Swamp-billies? LOL...
July 9, 2011 at 6:59 pm
::gets the banjo:: :P

July 9, 2011 at 8:18 pm
Hey I was in Europe and the fed me Snails cooked in Garlic Butter. I had supper at the Robinsons (Roscoe), an they served pork brains. I grew up eating Deer, Squirrel, and Rabbit. I guess I have tried a lot of foods many wouldn't try, most have been good, others intersting, and a few things I wouldn't try again.
July 9, 2011 at 9:03 pm
Gator always seemed a little tangy.
July 9, 2011 at 9:03 pm
Oh yeah, I had Bear, and alligator tail at the Carter family reunion in the Okefenokee Swamp, some years ago. It was good.

July 10, 2011 at 2:10 pm
Tossed off the train here, apparently the train hit someone, so it had to go back. I will wait for a solution. Metrorail hasn't decited what to do. Confusion rules.... Honey I'll be home when I get there.
July 8, 2011 at 7:02 pm
Heck of a place to hit someone...
July 8, 2011 at 7:06 pm

Finally made it home. I feel bad for the poor person that caused it, but I'm glad to be home.
July 8, 2011 at 8:36 pm

July 8, 2011 at 8:42 pm
Glad your home... Love you!
July 8, 2011 at 8:49 pm
Out for a lunch break. I thought I would walk over to the White House since it is only a couple blocks away. This is it.
July 5, 2011 at 2:37 pm
Awesome
July 5, 2011 at 2:55 pm
hope the new job is going well....
July 5, 2011 at 4:14 pm
If you're just a couple blocks from the White House, I hope you're taking the Metro into town everyday. Driving around there in that huge truck should be about as much fun as welding without gloves on.
July 5, 2011 at 5:57 pm
Great people, nice office, easy work... I'm sure it may get more difficult. Compared to my last I.T. position, it is a less complex environment (much less). Loving life. LOL
July 5, 2011 at 5:58 pm
Happy for you Tony. You deserve it.
July 5, 2011 at 7:16 pm
You'll do well. You may miss your old position as reprosenitive for Chicago Electric and Centeral Pheumatics though.
July 5, 2011 at 7:34 pm
Actually Terry, I didn't give it up. I am still a part timer, they seemed so happy with my work, they told me to come in when I could. I will do a few hours a week. I love that discount. LOL
July 5, 2011 at 8:59 pm
I love washington, what a great town to work in,
July 5, 2011 at 10:21 pm
Yes, it is fun to watch all the tourist running all over trying to get photos. I took several photos for people during the few minutes I was down there.
July 5, 2011 at 10:42 pm
Where are you working?
July 5, 2011 at 11:03 pm

When I lost a job at a Chiropractic office after a male customer grabbed my crotch, I immediately went and got a job at Sonic as a car hop. One day the front desk lady from the Chiro office was a customer I delivered an order to. She looked at me and exclaimed "What are you doing here?!?" with a smirk on her face. I looked her straight in the eyes and replied "Paying my bills, what you think?!?"
Americans seem to think they are too good to do what needs to be done to be responsible.
Dad, you taught me responsibility from a young age and even now, your example makes me proud. Love you.

Thanks Amie (Amelia for the grown-up friends), Work is work. I have had some I hated, and some I loved, but I always tried to do my best for the person that hired me. Many may judge by what you are paid, but I judge you by how youapproach your work and how you treat others.
July 6, 2011 at 5:14 pm
I have been extremely lucky that I have remained in advertising for 33 years, with the same co for 26. not something that happens much any more. Adam, my son, is a senior in high school I spend a lot of time stressing about what the job future will be for him
July 6, 2011 at 7:13 pm
Tony, I can't believe you ate a snake.
July 10, 2011 at 3:43 pm
Did you really do that?
July 10, 2011 at 3:43 pm
I didn't eat the whole thing, Charles eat as much as I did. lol
July 10, 2011 at 7:57 pm
95 South bound. NY City. Traffic is crazy, I just wanta get back to good ole Virginia. Back to the friendly Washington, DC traffic. Pray for us, we are on the road.
June 27, 2011 at 2:08 pm
Wow, I'd be eaten alive in New York. I think Washington DC traffic is scary.
June 27, 2011 at 3:18 pm
And yet, Atlanta is still #1 in bad traffic for the east coast! Whoo!
June 27, 2011 at 3:55 pm
I've been both places, and I cannot confirm that claim. Give me a week in Atlanta over a day in New York, anytime.
June 27, 2011 at 7:05 pm
I've driven many times around Atlanta. I once came to a stand-still on I75/85, due, I think, to an accident. But but nowhere ever have I sat in more traffic than when driving across NYC. To get across NYC, I figure a day. across DC, maybe 3 to 4 hours. 1 or 2 is usually plenty for ATL. at least, so goes my experience.
June 27, 2011 at 7:36 pm
I've driven from Maine to Va and I have to say that traffic in Va is tihe worst! I litterally went 3 miles an hr from DC to Stafford!
June 29, 2011 at 10:10 pm
Yeah, It gets bad here too. But it is hard to make a wrong turn down here. If you do, you are out in the country. In NY, you only get more traffic, and no one lets you change lanes to get back where you need to go. LOL
June 30, 2011 at 9:07 am

We cooked it on the Grill, and stood around it with a Knife and fork and cut it off as it cooked. It never made it to the plate. That's the way we do it at my Friend Charles' house. James, Charles, Cee Cee, and me. It was excellent. Tasty, and juicy!!!

This is one serving of meat. Mom used to feed a large family on less meat, and have left-overs. I'm expected to eat it all or insult the cook. It tastes great, but I only have so much room. Tough job, but I'll do my best.
December 31, 2010 at 7:33 pm
wish i could help you out
December 31, 2010 at 10:16 pm

Cynthia's parents. Her mom never stops cooking (execpt to sleep). I must say that she is the only one that I know that is a better cook than my wife. But then she taught my wife.
December 1, 2010 at 3:40 pm

I thought you said you weren't cleaning anymore chickens ever!
November 21, 2010 at 12:47 am
Now tell the truth. Was it shot or was it road-kill.
November 21, 2010 at 9:04 am
You caught me, but we ain't sure if it was the Chicken or the vulture. You know what a big truck can do to those things. lol
November 21, 2010 at 10:09 am
Well, It still looks delicious. Deep fryed vulture may be pretty good. Just watch out for road gravel.
November 21, 2010 at 2:44 pm

November 21, 2010 at 3:34 pm
