I agree, Jennifer. They bring great joy to me to see pictures of family--some of which are in my direct genealogy, and some I haven't seen for a long time, and getting to know some I didn't know existed.

My grandson(8yrs old) & I were looking at a kit for this just yesterday at WalMart. Looks fun. Is it too complicated for a 8yr old?
June 21, 2012 at 6:35 pm
Our kit came from WalMart day before yesterday. It is fairly simple. But has great potential for a real mess. I controled the environment by setting up a temporary table out back, and covered it with plastic, right beside the trash can. We did the work there and placed the shirts in plastic shopping bags double wrapped. Then stored them over night. Doing it Outside is the only way in my book.

It is a slow process, but it is coming along. I never realized all the factors that go into shaping a back and front of a violin. I am now curious how it will sound. The guys that make them measure everything and get very technical. I hope to bumble through and get something acceptable.
November 18, 2011 at 10:15 pm
Tony, you might want to talk to your cousin Marvin. He repairs violins and knows about as much about their construction as anyone you could talk to. Email me and I will give you his email address. He is not on FB.

July 16, 2010 at 8:24 pm
It was amazing. Two home runs, and one of the Atlanta Braves pitcher sitting beside us. A steady stream of people coming for his autograph. With everything, the most exciting part for CJ, was when the umpire was having difficulty with his vision, and finally the manager came out to express his displeasure with the visual impairment. Standing toe to toe, and nose to nose, yelling at the top of their voice for about a full minute or more. The crow cheered louder that when they hit the home run. CJ is still laughing.
June 24, 2010 at 10:05 pm
Which Braves pitcher?
June 25, 2010 at 1:22 am
I'm glad CJ enjoys those Manager-Umpire conferences as much as I do. :) Just keep her from watching the more "saltier" ones on YouTube. Some can get pretty crazy.
