Dorsey DavisQuite a few here I recognize and quite a few I don't. Do you have a list of everyone in the pic?
April 22, 2012 at 6:12 pm
Tony DavisNo, it only said Davis family reunion at R.L. Davis house in Blooming grove.
April 22, 2012 at 6:43 pm
Melinda Miller CagliusoWell my Granny Gains (Mae Davis) is holding my mom Joyce Gaines Miller, behind her is my Papa Tilford Gains so that's 3 down. I recognize my great grandparents too and my granny's sister and her husband.

Dorsey DavisI think I have the following correct. From right to left, back row are Tip Gaines, Ford Carter, Wesley Davis, Lester Davis with Sam Morgan directly below Wesley. Next to Sam is Robert L Davis and I think that is Calvin right behind Robert. Bessie Davis is the second from the left in the back row. I believe Sophie is the person on the far left whose face is partially hidden by the girl in front. Front row, far right is Mae Gaines. Not bad for someone who wasn't even born in 1942.

Peggy Hacker RobertsI love the way they dressed back then!
April 23, 2012 at 8:54 pm
Tony DavisI see people dressed like that in DC every day. (but then you see every style under the sun there).
April 23, 2012 at 8:56 pm
Peggy Hacker RobertsLast time I was there, everyone was wearing mostly black. I guess it works well if you're riding the Metro in the winter. It also looks professional....I suppose.
April 23, 2012 at 8:58 pm
Tony DavisAs spring blossoms, and summer comes, ther are both the locals, and the tourist (from all over the world). Then you get the true
diversity of people.
April 23, 2012 at 9:03 pm
Peggy Hacker RobertsI know. When I was a teenager and went there on my senior trip, I was amazed at all the different nationalities and hearing them talk in so many foreign languages. Back to the photo, Calvin Davis was my dad's first cousin. My dad was Bob Hacker.
