May 25, 2012 at 8:55 am

May 25, 2012 at 8:56 am
George is standing to the left of Cannon.
May 25, 2012 at 8:57 am
The nest to him is Frances Boggs who is George's daughter.
May 25, 2012 at 8:58 am

May 25, 2012 at 9:02 am
Moore's Creek is in southern Jackson County near Annville. They used to call the area around Moore's Creek Cemetery Lizard Flat. It took us years to find Abel Pennington's grave there.
May 25, 2012 at 9:03 am
Marty...it's located in Jackson County about 12 miles from London.
May 25, 2012 at 9:03 am
Frances McGee was a very pretty young woman, and her sister Lorie was also so sweet and pretty. I remember Frances' daughter, Charlotte, and Lorie's daughter, Margie, and how they would giggle and play before church services began. They were such pretty little girls!
May 25, 2012 at 9:09 am
I should have said Francis McGee Boggs and Lorie McGee Boggs. They were sisters who married brothers.

I wish I could. I remember playing my summers away there in the hills. I don't know exactly where it is, or if it even looks the same anymore. By the way. That is my Dad in the center front in the dark suit.
April 23, 2012 at 4:29 pm
Not alot has changed besides some new houses. Gabbards store is still there just not open. Moores creek school has been partially torn down. I spent more time in the woods at Tommy parkers than I did at home..LOL Your Dad really stands out in his dark suit

April 23, 2012 at 8:13 am
I loves these pictures. Had lots of fun at Moores Creek Church.
April 23, 2012 at 11:26 am
Thelma (Hillard) Davis is my Mom, in case anyone was wondering.
April 23, 2012 at 8:37 pm
I saw my Aunt Kay without checking the names posted on there - she looks just the same now!
April 23, 2012 at 9:16 pm
The little girl that is listed as Emma Jean Mcgee is Betty McGee. That is Wilma Joyce Davis behind Charlotte Boggs. Most likely Margie Boggs beside Betty McGee. Looks like Rosita Morgan next to her. I don't think that would be Carl Hacker in that as this seems to be all girls in the picture. He might be in the picture with the boys Willis and Ralph Wilson.
May 14, 2012 at 12:25 pm
Shirley, is that you standing next to Betty, or is that Margie. Margie would have been more the same size as Charlotte, wouldn't she? Does anyone know that little sad looking child on the far right side of the picture next to Thelma? I was thinking it might be me. I was always freezing, and she looks cold. I also had long skinny feet and my hair always stuck funny like hers. That looks like Maryetta Morgan peeking underneath the baby's blanket.
May 25, 2012 at 9:31 am
Margie is standing next to Thelma, then me, then Edna Mae Fields, then Betty....
May 25, 2012 at 9:49 am
Rosita, who is that standing on the far right front of the picture with the car behind them?
May 25, 2012 at 9:55 am
I think that may be Maryetta peeking through the blanket, but I don't know the other little girl--shorter and younger than Maryetta? I thought I would have known everyone that went there! :)
May 25, 2012 at 10:29 am
Rosita, I think it must be me! Everyone always said I looked pitiful and sad. Mom didn't ever take any pictures of us when we were little, except one at a photographer when I was about two or three. We didn't even own a camera. We had a great aunt who would come visit from Ohio that took a few snapshots of us and that was it.
May 25, 2012 at 12:33 pm
Do you remember going to Sunday School there when the Stroups came. This would have been before we were in first grade, but I don't think it looks like you. I need to find our first grade class photo and compare. And, btw, I don't remember you being sad or pitiful! :)
May 25, 2012 at 4:52 pm
I don't remember the Stroups, but I remember going to church there when I was quite small. It was probably soon after we moved here from Terrill's Creek. I was about three and a half then. That first grade photo hairstyle of mine was wild. My aunt had curled it, but the curls had gone askew by the time I had walked a mile to the bus stop and bopped around at school for a few hours. :) The reason I said I was sad and pitiful is because I was very sensitive, and I cried a lot. :(
May 25, 2012 at 5:08 pm
The woman in the front holding a baby...would that be Maggie Fields?
May 25, 2012 at 9:31 pm
It is Eva Fields--and Gertrude is on the porch holding a baby...
May 25, 2012 at 9:44 pm
I thought it might be after I typed that...Eva looks like her younger sister that I knew.
