Dorsey DavisIs that Prestone or moonshine he is pouring in that radiator?
May 9, 2012 at 11:26 pm
Tony DavisThat's the radiator, not the gas tank, so it is probably water. LOL I wouldn't want to see what would happen if it was shine, probably blow the front of the car off.

Oh!! how Pretty !!! She looks a lot like some of your teenager pictures!!!
May 9, 2012 at 10:30 pm
She looked a lot like Ray in this photo. Ray was my classmate from first grade through high school graduation. His niece, Kay, was one of my sister's best friends and classmates.
May 9, 2012 at 10:36 pm
You are so right - there is a lot of the same traits that show up here that remind us of Ray.

Wow!

This was taken in 1990, I went to London and rented a car, then drove up the east coast of England to Scotland. After visiting Scotland, I drove back down the west coast to Loch Ness and Wales, and back to London. It was a great week.

I don't remember the truck. Was this in Georgia or Kentucky?
May 9, 2012 at 10:51 pm
That was my truck in Georgia, we drove it to Kentucky for the family reunion. I took it to Germany with me when I went to Germany.
May 9, 2012 at 10:52 pm
This picture was taken on Moores creek, by Mom when we went by to see the house where I was born.
May 9, 2012 at 10:54 pm
I remember us taking the trip together. You bought something called "boiled peanuts". I thought they were the most stinking things I had ever smelled. I rode all the way to Kentucky with you eating them. Ugh! We visited your old home place on Moore's Creek. It was a beautiful area and I wanted to go back and do some photography in the area but have never got back that way. I need a guide. Wanta go?
May 9, 2012 at 10:55 pm
This is where the Wes Morgan place is now correct Tony Davis?
May 9, 2012 at 10:55 pm
Wesly Morgan's house. Let's go. I won't bring any Boiled peanuts. LOL
May 9, 2012 at 10:59 pm
Take a look at your schedule and we will find a way to make it happen. We might have to drop in on Justin or Terry for some gravy and biscuits though.
May 9, 2012 at 11:07 pm
If we drop in on Terry, we may want to hit him up for Chicken and Dumplins, and have Lowana make the Gravey and Biscuits. I haven't tried Justin's cooking yet, but Im sure he could whip something up.
May 9, 2012 at 11:14 pm
Hey I've got steaks and a grill on standby :)
May 9, 2012 at 11:15 pm
Justin, that is how city slickers cook. Whatever happened to fried squirrel, gravy, shuck beans, cornbread and buttermilk. A little apple butter for them biscuits is always good too!
May 9, 2012 at 11:19 pm
Well that would be Mom's department but I'm sure she wouldn't mind cooking for you all lol
May 9, 2012 at 11:20 pm
Just kidding, Justin. A fat, juicy hamburger and fresh tomatoes out of the garden sound just fine and a lot easier to fix. You don't have to heat up the kitchen either.
May 9, 2012 at 11:29 pm
The steak also sounds good too. LOL
May 9, 2012 at 11:31 pm
Or Dorsey you could drop by my house and I could fix all of the above for you. Except the peanuts, i don't like them either.
May 10, 2012 at 8:25 am
This place looks familiar. LOL
May 10, 2012 at 8:28 am
Please come visit us, too. I like to make desserts. They probably would go with the steak or with squirrel.
May 10, 2012 at 8:30 am
Give me a few minutes notice and I think we can rustle up some bologna gravy and Hot biscuts. (I love bologna gravy). Takes a little more time but I think we could conger up a kittle of Chicken and Dumplings too. Not made any in a little while, probably need to make a batch to keep in practice anyway.
May 10, 2012 at 7:19 pm
Tony, if we can put this outing together it doesn't sound like we would go hungry! lol
May 10, 2012 at 10:34 pm
I don't remember ever going hungry in Kentucky, and that is one of the things I love about it.
May 10, 2012 at 11:23 pm
Guys, you should come back soon. You would love it! I think it's the best place in the world! It's only about ten miles or so from London. Dorsey, we even have some small waterfalls.....nothing majestic like the ones you've been photographing, but some little trickling ones that look nice after a hard rain.

May 9, 2012 at 9:37 pm
I remember the wooden bird that Mr. Hellard carved, we use to have one, they were neighbors of ours at one time they lived in Old John McGee house, just over from George McGee my grandfather lived.
May 10, 2012 at 4:58 pm
Oh how cute all the photos are. I love the old black and white.

May 9, 2012 at 9:37 pm
Where was this house at?
May 9, 2012 at 11:22 pm
I have no Idea. It was way before my time.
May 9, 2012 at 11:23 pm
Dorsey Davis I won't swear to it but this looks like the house just down the road from Wes Morgan's place. I'd have to ask Dad and make sure.
May 9, 2012 at 11:24 pm
This house is just below Wes Morgans on Moorescreek If I am not mistaken Calvin built this house, and the funny thing is me and my wife bought it as our first house when we got married. Sorta wished I had kept it
May 9, 2012 at 11:26 pm
I have another photo of this house and the windows are not boarded up. I thought it may have been a house Wes owned, but maybe not.
May 9, 2012 at 11:28 pm
Nope your dad built this house
May 9, 2012 at 11:29 pm
That house was built around the same time as the one where I live now
May 9, 2012 at 11:32 pm
Now I know where it is.
May 9, 2012 at 11:33 pm
Thanks for all the pics they mean alot. most of these we have never seen
May 9, 2012 at 11:34 pm
Well when I get over ther, I'll be looking for more. We'll have to scan some in, if we can find some more.
May 9, 2012 at 11:37 pm
Jason, I wish you and Shelley had kept the house, too. I have good memories of the Clays living here. We visited them often. Armina was like another grandmother.
May 10, 2012 at 8:22 am
This was where Armin Clay lived.

Tony, she is very pretty.
May 10, 2012 at 8:17 am

This was taken in East Germany when it was still a divided city.
May 10, 2012 at 9:04 am
OK, James I guess I need to turn in my "Man card"
May 9, 2012 at 9:36 pm
with that vest on, I would say you needed to knit a scarf or hat to stay warm in Germany,
May 10, 2012 at 11:54 am
I remember thast mischievous look! It was part of your "harmless" sctick, & that yarn and needles are only props.... LOL.
