Anyone know who this is?
May 19, 2012 at 9:36 pm
Lucille RobinsonGrandma Morgan and Grandma Hellard standing beside garden fence at our house on Moore's Creek. I've drawn many buckets of water from that well!!
May 19, 2012 at 11:04 pm
Dorsey DavisCracker Barrel has a lot of those old well buckets hanging on their walls. I have never met a waitress who had any idea what they were. They were the modern contraptions that we used after my grandparents had a well drilled and we didn't have to carry water from the spring anymore. Boy, do I feel old. I don't visit antique stores anymore. I am afraid they will want to skin and stuff me for one of their exhibits. lol
May 19, 2012 at 11:15 pm
Tony DavisI thought that it was Great Grandma Hellard, but I wasn't sure about the other lady.
May 19, 2012 at 11:47 pm
Tony DavisThanks.
May 19, 2012 at 11:47 pm
Lucille Robinson@Dorsey...that particular well bucket was invented right here in London by John Carpenter..owner of London Bucket Co...
May 20, 2012 at 8:40 am
Dorsey DavisThanks, Lucille. I learned something new today. It is always a good day when you are learning something new. Do you know if they still manufacture these buckets?
May 20, 2012 at 10:37 am
Lucille RobinsonI bet you could look in some of the Amish websites...some years ago we were in Berne, Indiana and visited an Amish hardware store..talk about bringing back the memories..just like walking back to the 40-50"s...
May 20, 2012 at 1:54 pm
Someone tell me who this is.
May 19, 2012 at 9:36 pm
Maybe Peggy Hacker Roberts knows.
May 21, 2012 at 9:16 pm
Was she a Morris? Maybe Arthur Morris' daughter? Not sure. She was married to Jerry Hacker and they adopted two children....Lonnie and Lena. Lonnie works at Lakes Funeral Home in McKee.
May 21, 2012 at 9:22 pm
Mamaw, Melvin's Aunt Ellen has a picture almost like this one identified as Melvin and Pearl???
May 23, 2012 at 10:47 am
I thought for sure it was Melvin Riley, but when he wasn't with Rhoda, I was afraid to say it was. I wasn't thinking that there are pictures of me out there with somebody I dated before I met Ron.
May 23, 2012 at 5:43 pm
So everyone seems to think it is Melvin Riley??? I have heard that name over the years. But I don't know him.
May 23, 2012 at 6:08 pm
It looks like a picture of Melvin that was posted earlier...I think he had a hat on in it.
May 31, 2012 at 8:20 pm
Alma's maiden was Morris.
May 31, 2012 at 8:26 pm
I haven't heard from Lowana Wyatt yet. She usually ver good at telling me who people are.
May 31, 2012 at 8:43 pm
I just talked to Lonnie and he thinks they did date...I am going to tag him and he said he will let us know if it's her.
May 31, 2012 at 8:51 pm
Maybe her name was Alma Pearl?????
May 31, 2012 at 8:53 pm
This looks a little like Don Johnson's mom to me...she was a sister to Edith Davis and Rhoda Riley.
May 31, 2012 at 8:55 pm
Don Johnson mom was not a sister to Edith Davis OR Rhoda RILEY
May 31, 2012 at 10:01 pm
THAT IS MELVIN RILEY AND I DON'T KNOW WHO THE WOMAN IS IT NOT RHODA
May 31, 2012 at 10:03 pm
Sis...wasn't she a Muncy? I remember my mom talking about them and I thought she said they were sisters.
May 31, 2012 at 10:10 pm
I THINK THAT IS MELVIN THE MORE I LOOK AT IT I DON'T KNOW
May 31, 2012 at 10:11 pm
This doesn't look like Alma to me.
May 31, 2012 at 10:11 pm
Tony: I have no earthly ideal who this is. Sorry!
May 31, 2012 at 10:25 pm

June 1, 2012 at 8:45 am
I had my names mixed up...it wasn't Don's mother..it was his mother in law. She is a sister to Edith and Rhoda. Could this be her?
June 1, 2012 at 9:05 pm

May 19, 2012 at 9:36 pm
Not sure just who this Robert Gaines is.
May 19, 2012 at 9:50 pm
Tip Gaines had a brother named Robert, I was wondering if this was him.
May 19, 2012 at 9:59 pm
I can't say for sure. Don't much look like uncle Bob though. He also had a cusin named Robert. Could be him too. Just not sure.
May 19, 2012 at 10:04 pm
Oh, well he is Robert Gaines, if he is not the Uncle, he's probably the cousin. I knew if I tagged you, you could tell me. Thanks.
May 19, 2012 at 10:09 pm
I'll try to find out.
May 19, 2012 at 10:10 pm
There is another Robert Gaines that is Nimrod Gaines son or something. I don't think it is Uncle Bob either.
May 19, 2012 at 10:46 pm
Feedback I get is that it is probably Robert Gaines who is about a 4th cusin. He lived near us and was not far from Daddy's age. I can't find the exact connection in the gaines book though. Anyway My Aunt Charlotte Gaines Philpot said that was not her brother.

May 19, 2012 at 9:35 pm
Tony, thank you so much! This is my Aunt Mary who was always there to take care of us when our parents needed a baby sitter. She would always make us cakes and popcorn!!! I will have to share this with my other siblings and cousins!
May 19, 2012 at 10:03 pm
I thought you might know her. The original was 1.5 inches tall and really beat up, with a hole in it like it had been tied on a string. It took several hours to bring back to this condition. It still needs work, but I hope you like it.
May 19, 2012 at 10:12 pm
Wow! That's amazing that you know how to restore these old photos that were almost gone forever! I love it! Thanks again!
May 19, 2012 at 10:24 pm
Dad's sister, Marry. Mary caught me drinking table syrup from the pitcher when I was about six, I didn't do that again! Thanks for the wonderful memory.

May 20, 2012 at 6:10 pm
Uh, I don't know much other than it was in Mom's photo album, and it Had the names you see written on the back. One reason I put these out, is that a lot of people tell me about them and how they are related. Sorry i can't be of more assistance. Lowana Wyatt may know more. She always seems to know about these photos.
May 20, 2012 at 6:29 pm

Isn't this at Grandad Davis' place on Pond Creek. I think that is the old foot bridge that you had to cross the creek on before they built the bigger bridge.
May 19, 2012 at 11:17 pm
Probably. That was before my time.
May 19, 2012 at 11:19 pm
Howdy Doody, Gene Autry, Kookla, Fran, and Ollie, Groucho Marx were all before your time. Are you trying to make me feel old? lol
