What was her rank?
July 3, 2012 at 8:52 am
She had made it to Staff Sergeant, this was a promotion and commissioning to 2nd Lieutenant. All and all she worked her way from Private to Caption before she left the service after 14 years. C.J. was involved in the decision. I am so proud of her.

Tony, this is the first time I have ever seen this picture of Dad. Is there any way I can get a high res copy?
July 3, 2012 at 10:59 am
I can give you the original scan. The actual photo was scanned from Terry L. Gaines daughter's book. The original was rather small only a couple of inches. I scanned it at 600 dpi, and if you want that copy I can give it to you.

I've heard Hazel Green all my life, my brother and sisters graduated from there, and I never knew it was named for someone, I thought it was a place. LOL ☺
July 3, 2012 at 9:22 pm
Lets see, I believe she was a sister to Enola Green Gaines (my grandmaw) and Lottie Green Parsley. (Carl and Norma Hurleys grandmaw) You can run a search on Carl Hurley and find some pretty good comedy skits he does on youtube.
July 3, 2012 at 9:29 pm
My friend taught at Hazel Green. We would listen to Carl Hurley cassettes on the trip to college. He is very funny. I did not know you were related to him Terry.
